What’s up guys? It’s Glasses-kun hereeee.
Recently, I’ve been trying to expand my social network in this ani-blogging community, and it’s nice to see new faces and read interesting stories. I guess this is the aftermath of watching Persona 4. That show makes you want to meet new people and make bonds.
“Bonds of people is the true power”—Persona 4
Also, after seeing these bloggers’ ‘about’ pages, I came to feel that I didn’t put much effort into my introduction. So here is Glasses-kun Version 2.1~~~~~~~~~~ If you have any question about me, feel free to ask…That is, if you are even curious about me as a person in the first place…*cries* Nah, I am just kidding. I am pretty content already with people reading and feeling happy/having fun thanks to my translation projects. I won’t be experiencing the ‘Senpai, please notice me’ internal struggle, so don’t worry gentlemen.
Now then, let’s get to our business.
It’s time for another update on the Translation Projects
I will be temporarily taking a break from translating this series until August 17th. For those who didn’t read my previous post, this is basically when Mangazuki can jump on the bandwagon and thus when we can officially collaborate on translating this series. Besides the ones I’ve previously mentioned in the last post, there are two other reasons why I’m stopping for now for Mangazuki.
1. From chapter 62, it is pivotal to have a skilled re-drawer. I don’t have a tablet for re-drawing, and there is a limitation to photoshop tools I can use to maintain the art quality of the manga. If I were to continue alone as I am now, the flow and the enjoyment of the manga would have to be compromised. And I personally think that’s quite a waste…it would be doing this series huge injustice.
2. *Glasses shines and begins to do a drumroll on the table*
*Glasses begins to flap its wings and fly towards the sun*
I get paid for translating.
Some of you might look at me with disappointment, and I don’t blame you. But please hear me out.
With 60+ Chapters, the time and effort I will need to dedicate is overwhelming. It will be incomparable to the HnG Translation Case. As shameless as this might possibly sound, I will need stronger motivation and ways to reward myself than the ones I have now to stay committed enough to finish them all. While expressions of gratitude are nice and fulfilling to receive, I feel like I also need another incentive to stay committed in the long-run. #Self-awareness + #Shameless. Also, doing them all just by myself is quite a formidable task. It will likely break my mind and my glasses. *Shivers*
My sincere apology if I disappointed you, and I hope for your kind understanding.
With HnG, I was barely motivate myself enough to finish translating Kashii arc. And this was huge thanks to many of my supportive readers. They were really nice people who helped me overcome many discouraging comments and rude attitudes from some people.
*Before moving on, special thanks to Spam and Hamzah, the two people who were extremely kind enough to give me gifts on steam. Out of 80,000+ visitors. I usually like humble people and feel meh with proud people. However, I think you guys can take strong pride in your powerful support. If it weren’t for you two, I probably wouldn’t have continued to translate HnG or picked up other mangas. You guys indirectly helped thousands of people have fun and feel happiness. Good Job!
You probably have heard of Kakegurui, which is one of the hottest shows this season. I will be translating another work done by the author of Kakegurui, and it’s called “Rengoku Deadroll”. Also known as Purgatory Dead Roll.
The story goes somewhat like this:
“Meet Sakai Hiroaki, a high school teenage mastermind with a genius-level intelligence and a lack of interest in anything that is easy to him. During one unlucky day, in an attempt to stop a student from committing suicide, he ends up committing suicide himself.
After he awakens, he finds himself not in the real world, nor in heaven, but in purgatory, along with a group of others who did the same: commit suicide.
Sakai discovers that he and his peers are subjected to never-ending intense death games in this world for reasons unknown to him, and he tries to find a way to escape.”
After picking up Real Account, Prison Lab and also this one done by the author of Kakegurui, I feel like some people in the manga community began to see/recognize me as the translator of dark psychological works in which MCs have screw looses….Yay, I guess?
I hope for your kind support with this series too. Currently, there are 5 updated chapters and 5 more raws ahead. Each raw= about 40 pages. So rip me….200 pages. *Sigh*
Hahaha, that’s why I will be working with Mangazuki on this one too.
Minamoto Kun Monogatari
While I was deleting the HnG PDF files for Chapter 31-36 to retrieve my digital space storage on my wordpress blog, I think I deleted some of the pages for Minamoto-kun Monogatari. My sincere apology for any inconvenience caused.
Also, I passed this series onto Mangazuki, as it seems they are working on it too. Last time I heard, they apparently have 10+ chapters translated. It’s just that the typesetter is pretty busy, so the update has become extremely slow. Just letting you know.
Yeah, I think that’s about all. I am still trying to get over the void in my heart that Persona 4 left me with. That show sure made me get attached to its casts strongly. I was able to experience the feels. Well, this rambling aside, thanks for reading another monologue of Glasses-kun, and I hope you enjoyed your visit here today.
I wish you a pleasant day.
#Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter so that you guys can know when I upload the translated version and also know more about what’s going on.
#If you guys enjoy the translation, please leave a comment/support below or on MyAnimeList. Any support would be greatly appreciated. If you also mention where the support is coming from in the world, that would be pretty cool.
